Consultancy & Ongoing Partnerships

Strategic trauma-informed consultancy for schools and organisations

Sustained support for organisations seeking to embed trauma-informed, inclusive practice across culture, leadership and day-to-day systems.

Creating safe, inclusive and effective environments requires more than awareness or one-off training. It requires a shift in culture, language and practice, supported over time.

I work alongside schools and organisations to support this shift with clarity, realism and a deep understanding of how trauma, stress and neurodiversity impact behaviour, systems and staff capacity.

This work is designed to support long-term, embedded change, not additional initiatives or short-term fixes.

Consultancy and partnership support

Support is tailored to your setting and priorities, but may include:

Organisational consultation

Practical, reflective consultations to support schools and organisations at any stage of their trauma-informed journey — from early exploration through to embedding practice across teams.

Ongoing consultancy & change support

A series of sessions designed to work alongside leadership and staff as you:

  • Review and strengthen behaviour and inclusion systems

  • Align policy with lived practice

  • Develop consistent, trauma-informed approaches across teams

This support helps translate values into clear, workable systems.

Individual supervision & reflective practice

Dedicated reflective space for leaders and practitioners to:

  • Deepen understanding of trauma-informed practice

  • Explore complex situations safely

  • Strengthen confidence and decision-making

This supports professional development while reducing isolation and burnout.

Policy and strategy development

Bespoke support to review and develop policies, frameworks and procedures so they are:

  • Statutory-compliant

  • Trauma-informed and inclusion-focused

  • Practical and usable in real-world settings

Training and capacity building

Targeted training and learning opportunities designed to:

  • Build shared understanding across teams

  • Strengthen consistency in practice

  • Support sustainable implementation

This may sit alongside consultancy or as part of a wider partnership.

Staff capacity, wellbeing and culture support

Support focused on strengthening staff capacity and retention by:

  • Reducing emotional load and reactivity

  • Supporting regulation in high-pressure roles

  • Creating systems that sustain staff wellbeing, not deplete it

This work is embedded into organisational systems rather than delivered as a standalone wellbeing offer.

Who this work is for

This consultancy is particularly helpful for organisations who:

Want to embed trauma-informed practice beyond awareness

Are navigating complex behaviour, inclusion or SEND pressures

Are supporting staff working under sustained emotional demand

Want alignment between values, policy and everyday practice

Are seeking long-term, relational support rather than one-off input

About the approach

With over 25 years’ experience working within the education system, including leadership roles and extensive work with children, families and professionals, I bring a grounded, systems-aware approach to this work.

My consultancy balances compassion with clarity and reflection with action, supporting organisations to make meaningful, sustainable change without overwhelming staff.

How partnerships are structured

Consultancy and partnership work is typically agreed on a termly or annual basis, allowing time for practice to embed and evolve.

Support can be delivered in-person or online and is shaped collaboratively to meet the realities of your setting.

"From the outset of our journey towards becoming a Trauma informed school, Sarah has supported every step of the way. Her calm and knowledgeable approach helped us greatly when we were working on our new behaviour policy and she helped us with our decision making by taking the time to talk issues through with us. We have really benefitted from the way that she was able to appreciate our specific context and adapt things to suit our school, pupils and parents."
